Upper Face 2 – Frontal Sinus Drainage

  • Characterization of frontal sinus fractures should include: localization to the anterior table, posterior table, or both tables; presence of comminution and displacement; findings concerning for sinus outflow obstruction.
  • Identifying sinus outflow obstruction is difficult, but displacement of bone fragments posteriorly in the region of the frontonasal duct should raise concern.
