NOE 1 – Diagnosis

  • NOE fractures are under-diagnosed and are often missed by radiologists in the setting of complex facial trauma.
  • NOE fractures can be identified by recognizing the involvement of 5 cardinal tracts or by recognizing the creation of an independent fracture fragment containing the lacrimal crest (attachment site of the medial canthal tendon).
