Nasoseptal 2 – Evaluation
- Small osseous fractures can belie more extensive cartilaginous injury in nasoseptal fractures.
- Cartilage injury is better assessed with an exam, but obvious septal hematomas should be mentioned as they require drainage.
- The following elements are relevant to closed fixation techniques: displacement/impaction (elevator) and involvement of the bony nasal septum (forceps).
