- The nasoseptal subunit is the most commonly fractured mid-face subunit.
- The frontonasal, frontomaxillary, and nasomaxillary sutures are normal lucencies that should not be misattributed to non displaced fractures.
- The frontal processes of the maxilla and anterior nasal spine help support the more extensive cartilaginous structure of the nose.
