Summary

  • Characterization of frontal sinus fractures should include:
    • Localization to the anterior table, posterior table, or both tables
    • Presence of comminution and displacement
    • Findings concerning for sinus outflow obstruction
  • Identifying sinus outflow obstruction is difficult, but displacement of bone fragments posteriorly in the region of the frontonasal duct should raise concern
